Staying in a villa in Lanzarote this summer - Timanfaya National Park is a MUST SEE attraction
If you have decided to stay in one of the great apartments or villas in Lanzarote then one of the MUST DO things during your holiday is to visit Timanfaya National Park.
The Timanfaya National Park is the most popular tourist attraction there is in Lanzarote. The park is located in the south west and is a mass of volcanic rock. The area in question errupted for a total of 5 years creating the moon-like landscape of Lanzarote. If you are staying in a villa in Playa Blanca or close by, then the park is just 20-30 minutes drive away. If you have an apartment in Yaiza then you are even closer to this holiday attraction.
When you arrive at the park, you will be charged €8 each to enter. A short drive will take you to the show area where you can see just how hot the ground under the volcanic landscape still is. A bus trip around the park is included within the entry price and is well worth a go.
Make sure that you take suitable foot wear and something warm as it can be a little chilly on top of the volcano.
Timanfaya National Park visiting hours are 10:00 to 17:45.
