La Guancha, Tenerife begins it's celebrations!
Yesterday on August 8, La Guancha started it's celebrations with the biggest day of the local holidays in honour of the Virgen de La Esperanza.
Bajada de las Hayas kicked off the festival which will continue until August 22. La Guancha town hall is providing free transport from the central plaza Ángeles Machado at 16.00h to take participants to the starting point at Casa de La Pradera.
The popular pilgrimage, led under the banner of the Virgen de La Esperanza starts the procession travelling in the direction of the ridge arriving at the plaza de la Iglesia at 18.00h where it will be joined by La Guanchería de Los Realejos, groups from Atahona and Santa Rosalía de San Juan de la Rambla and the Danzas de las Cintas from Tegueste.
The plaza then turns itself into a great dance hall with the orchestra Melao Boricua y Bahía band.
